We hope you are well and are enjoying those first glimmers of spring amidst the showers. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to get everything ready for the 2023 cruising season. We can’t wait to welcome our wonderful guests for some more Scottish cruising in the beautiful waters of Argyll.
It’s been a long winter and poor Skipper Ted has had a bit of a job finding breaks in the bad weather to get all of his outside tasks done, but he’s worked hard and our gorgeous converted fishing trawler, Splendour, is all ready to go – and looking better than ever! She’s had her woodwork rubbed down and varnished, a lovely new coat of paint and some higher hand rails fitted, to name just a few of the things that have been done to spruce her up.
As we enter the new season, fingers crossed for some glorious weather and impressive wildlife spotting. Last year we saw orca, minke whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals, puffins, white-tailed sea eagles, gannets and many more. We still have some spaces on cruises this season, so do check out our cruise calendar or get in touch via email or phone. We’d be delighted to hear from you!
As well as the modifications to Splendour, we’ve also been busy making sure we have our wonderful local suppliers ready to go. One of the things we pride ourselves on is great food and drink during our trips. Our food is all prepared fresh by our onboard chef, Thomas, who is new to us this season and ready to cook up a storm. He, and we at Argyll Cruising, love nothing more than using local produce and suppliers. And this year we have lined up a brilliant selection, including the Isle of Bute Distillery, Argyll Vintners in Dunoon and The Wee Wine Shop in Oban, Fyne Ales, Winston Churchill and Kent’s Butchers and more!
And finally, did you see us on the BBC Scotland series Scotland’s Greatest Escape? Presented by JJ Chalmers and Grado, the aim of the programme is to uncover Scotland’s best holiday escapes. Argyll Cruising was nominated in the “Best Luxury Escape” category and we were lucky enough to be voted the winners against two other brilliant Scottish businesses. The final is going to be shown tonight (Wednesday 5th April) where we’ll see the seven category winners go up against each other to find out who will be crowned Scotland’s Greatest Escape. Tune in at 10 p.m. or watch the whole series on BBC iPlayer. We’re in the first episode!
