Last week saw our final two cruises of the 2023 cruising season – back-to-back three-night Kyles and the Isles trips – round the season out to great success. Skipper Ted and Chef Thomas had a blast with these final groups – what a great way to wave goodbye to the cruising season. So with Splendour safely in her winter home in Holy Loch Marina, we thought it would be a good time to reflect on the season, and what a brilliant time we had.

Of course it sounds like a cliché, but the time really has flown by since the first cruise of the year in April. We’ve packed a lot in to those 6 months, including:
25 trips
171 guests
A 13 night voyage from Dunoon to Oban
7 private charters
17+ islands visited
Hundreds of meals cooked in Splendour’s small but perfectly formed kitchen
Countless dolphins, porpoises and seals spotted
A few minke whales
1 humpback whale
2 orca
Thousands of puffins, guillemots, gannets and razorbills
Several pairs of eagles
A number of whisky distilleries . . .
Lots of sunny days
And of course lots of rain as well (this is Scotland after all!)
So as you can see, it’s been a busy but amazing season. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the brilliant guests who have joined us this year. We’ve had the pleasure of returning guests, and lots of new faces too, and we’ve loved welcoming everyone on board. We hope to see many of you back in the future.
We do have space on some cruises in 2024, which you can see on our cruising calendar. But hurry, as they do book up fast! We’ll also be releasing our 2025 cruising calendar soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
Now we’re off for a cup of tea and a sit down before the winter jobs begin.
